Rachel was born in Glasgow and graduated from RSAMD (now Royal Conservatoire Scotland). She went on to star as long running lead 'Tiffany Bowles' in STV’s ever popular HIGH ROAD. In Scotland earlier theatre roles included Desdemona in TAG’s OTHELLO, Estella in the Traverse’s GREAT EXPECTATIONS, Lady Capulet in Stray’s ROMEO AND JULIET and Lady Macbeth in MACBETH at the Byre and Elmire in TARTUFFE.

Rachel recently appeared in the dark political drama SEX OFFENCE at the Edinburgh Festival and as 'Petra' in the acclaimed financial drama F*CKED.COM at the Traverse Theatre. Other theatre work includes Huckleberry Finn in TOM SAWYER at Contact Theatre Manchester, Laura in Pocket Theatre’s THE GLASS MENAGERIE, Margaret Hymen in York Theatre Royal’s BROKEN GLASS, Paines Plough’s groundbreaking production of YOU CANNOT GO FORWARD at Oran Mor/Traverse and Manchester Royal Exchange; Irene Pollock in THE WORLD ACCORDING TO BERTIE by Alexander McCall Smith and Doris Day in BIOGRAPHIES IN A BAG by Lynn Ferguson both at the Edinburgh Festival where Rachel also wrote, presented and performed her critically acclaimed one-woman show THE CROSSING (Gilded Balloon) that went on to tour the UK and LA.

Rachel has played a diversity of tv roles from EASTENDERS, SILENT WITNESS, RIVER CITY AND TAGGERT to 'Angela' in the award winning DEAD SET (Channel 4), Radio work includes: ‘After Icarus’ (BBC Radio Scotland), Mrs Pinkerton in ‘Pinkerton’ (BBC Radio 4), Amber in ‘The Fly’ and Death in ‘Splitting the Atom’ both for Weird Tales (BBC Radio 4).

Rachel is also an established voiceover artist.
