Shamia was recently seen in the latest series of LAW AND ORDER UK in an emotional role. Other TV work includes the 'Coming Up' workshops for Channel 4/Touchpaper.
However since graduating from Arts Ed, Shamia has predominantly worked in theatre, playing principal roles in KHADIJA'S 18TH at the Hackney Empire, Fareiba in :DELIRIUM:'s GO TO YOUR GOD LIKE A SOLDIER at The Old Vic Tunnels and Meg in their production of FROM WHERE I'M STANDING at Edinburgh Underbelly - both show garnering 4* and 5* reviews.
Shamia is one of the five piece comedy troupe JAM SPONGE who performed their sell out shows BENCH BITES and BAKERLOO BITES at the Leicester Square Theatre and at last years Edinburgh Fringe.
She has written with Sarah Henley a new comedy BURKAS AND BACON BUTTIES based on her mixed-culture upbringing in Wigan and the play will premier at the 2018 Vault Festival and is shortly published in a volume of new work by Nick Hern Books.
