Mandy trained and began working as an actor after a career television production for BBC, Channel 4 and LWT. The primary focus of much of this work was on giving voice to people not being heard and uncovering situations in order to make a positive difference; for example TURNING THE SCREWS (C4 documentary series) about conditions in Wandsworth Prison.
Mandy trained at Uta Hagen's HB Studio in New York and Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (MA Classical Acting) and she enjoys working with both classical texts and new writing.
Theatre includes the successful run of SHALOM BABY at Theatre Royal Stratford East (Off West End Awards nominated Best Ensemble, shortlisted Best Production). The play was set in 1940's Berlin and present day Brooklyn and Mandy played two very different Jewish mothers in both time zones. This production was cast before it was written with the actors contributing towards the script workshops and research.
Mandy is from London, she has also lived in the US and France and speaks fluent French.
Mandy launched EQUAL WRITES in response to current issues around gender parity and diversity on stage in the UK and as part of the nationwide campaign addressing this situation. She was awarded The Writers' Guild Theatre Encouragement of New Writing Award 2013 for Equal Writes.
