Carys graduated from Drama Studio London in 2016 and went straight into the critically acclaimed, double award-winning, run of Empty Beds at Edinburgh’s Underbelly Cowgate. The show transferred to the Arcola Theatre in the Autumn for its London premiere and was then seen at Galway Festival in Ireland. The production was Pennyworth Productions’ debut show, of which Carys is Co-Artistic Director and will have its first full-length run at The Hope Theatre, Islington early in 2018.
Further theatre in 2017 has included a leading role in new play BARRED FREEDOM at the Cockpit Theatre and MOTHERLOGUES at Brighton Festival.
Before her time at drama school Carys studied Drama Studies and English Literature at Trinity College Dublin, graduating with a first in 2015. Whilst there she performed in many productions, most notably: Kali in Stockholm and Player in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Samuel Beckett Theatre. She worked with the acclaimed Rough Magic theatre company as part of Dublin Theatre Festival, and has also performed in the Dublin Fringe Festival.
Carys is a strong mezzo soprano singer, and can play the clarinet to a high standard. She is originally from London, and her other passion is illustration.
