TONY BONCZA

TONY BONCZA works as a theatre and short film director, specialising in one-person plays (including a long and successful collaboration with celebrated solo performer Guy Masterson) but also encompassing classics and new work.   He has directed at the Traverse Theatre Edinburgh, Salisbury Playhouse, Nuffield Theatre Southampton and the Tivoli Theatre and Adelaide Festival amongst many.

Tony trained at Central School of Speech and Drama as an actor and enjoys a well respected and versatile performing career including work at the RSC, in the West End and at major regional theatres including Birmingham Rep, Lyceum Edinburgh and Chichester Festival working with directors including Johnathan Church and John Dove.

Tony is based in London and Somerset and available to collaborate on new and existing texts.   He also writes and performs cabaret material, most notably at Salisbury Playhouse where he co-wrote and performed several shows with actor Nicholas Lumley.   Writing work also includes short film screenplays SAMUEL'S GARDEN and WALK ON THE WILD SIDE and radio play BARTON STACEY AND THE DEATH OF THE ELGIN MARBLES (Spire FM).   

Tony has taught at LAMDA, directing their Jacobean Theatre Summer School and is the owner and proprietor of VOCALIS - THE VOICE CONSULTANCY working one to one and at Moorlands College (Christchurch) and St Mellitus College (Kensington + Plymouth)
